Looks like our terrifically tenacious and talented tenor is on a mission to have a terrific summer! As much as we love using the thesaurus, our English *scholar* can’t relate—Minh started off his summer back in his home state of New Jersey, doing graduate English research at Rutgers University! Now, he’s hangin’ in the #Have, collaborating with fellow OOTBites Jackson, Diyu, and OOTAlum Dhiksha in organizing a fundraiser for a local group called Unidad Latina en Acción, regarding the recent child incarceration practices at the border. On top of that, he’s a counselor for the First-Year Scholars at Yale (FSY) program; working at the AACC; doing marketing work for the start-up Hugo & Hobby; serving as a Writing Partner; teaching and mentoring for a program at MIT; and filling in his freetime with freelance writing in non-fiction and criticism. PHEW, we’re shook. We love a MINHterdisciplinary legend!
Our aDORYble alto is having an exciting summer! She started off with a splash—racing with the Yale Women’s Crew Team in England where she made it all the way to semi-finals at the Women’s Henley Regatta! Now, she is back in Massachusetts, managing to keep herself busier than the school year, waking up at 4:40am every day (“lolz HAHAHAHA”). She’s clearly no KNIGHT owl! She balances her time between training and competing twice a day on the Charles River with a summer team at the Riverside Boat Club; working at company called Heuresis, where she meticulously collects data; and taking an online class during her lunch breaks. What a productive and multi-talented legend, honestly!
It’s quite the busy summer for our badass bass! First, Jackson revisited Cali, Colombia for two weeks (one of OOTB’s destinations from our most recent Spring Tour!) where he worked on a recycling and self-sustainability environmentalist project. During his stay, he also researched and learned all about Cali—the city that his dad’s family grew up in—in preparing to accurately represent and write about the city for one of his senior screenplay projects. Now, Jackson’s doing research at the Institution for Social and Policy Studies and taking a summer session class entitled “Television and Crime” in New Haven! He’s already beginning to do research and write his screenplay for his thesis, based on representations of queerness in animated movies and television. Procrastination? Never heard of her! In the midst of all of this, Jackson attended NYC Pride and will begin FroCo training in Mid-August! Setting an iconic example for #Yale2022, king!

Kushal is a Gemini 🐍 from East Brunswick, NJ. He’s a prospective Global Affairs major (and is currently accepting prayers for the status of his application). Outside of OOTB, he is involved in YIRA, Yale Dems, and his residential college, and he writes for Korean Culture Scene about kpop. Ever enigmatic, Kushal has many hidden talents; among them are crying while watching Korean music videos and movies and ruining his own instagram feed. His favorite foods are mac and cheese, nachos, and cheese fries (“notice a trend?????????????????”), and if he could join any kpop group he would start his own and be the CENTER of attention.
Come see Kushal take center stage today as he sings an OOTB favorite, “Bottom of the River.” We’re so excited to show off Kushal & all our other babies—see you in Stiles tonight at 9!
